Set Up Transcription and AI Analysis

Choose which recordings are transcribed and scored automatically so you can coach your team with AI Performance Analysis.

By Red Belt Team | Last Update: October 31, 2026

Transcription turns your recorded calls and in-person conversations into text. AI Performance Analysis then scores each staff conversation and writes coaching notes, which helps your team improve their sales conversations. On the Transcription page you choose what happens automatically for each type of recording. Anything you leave off can still be started by hand from the recording.

What it costs

  • Transcription uses Red Belt transcription credits: 1 credit = up to 1 minute of transcription, billed the same way as phone calls.
  • AI Performance Analysis uses the AI provider your gym connected in Setup › AI Setup, so charges from that provider may apply. Each recording is analyzed once.

Open Transcription Settings

  1. Visit redbeltgym.com.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Click Setup in the left-side menu.
  4. Under Communication, click Transcription.Setup page with the Transcription tile highlighted
  5. Make sure the Transcription switch at the top is enabled.Transcription settings for each recording type

Choose What Runs Automatically

Each recording type has its own settings:

  • Call recordings: browser, phone and forwarded calls.
  • In-person recordings: audio and video recorded in the Staff App.
  • Memories: recordings that aren't staff conversations. These can be transcribed, but AI Performance Analysis isn't available for them.
  1. Enable Auto-transcribe to transcribe every new recording of that type automatically.
  2. Enable Auto AI Performance Analysis to score every new transcribed recording of that type automatically.

Recognize Staff Voices (Optional)

Enable Recognize staff voices to label transcripts with the right staff member's name. Red Belt Gym stores a voice signature for each staff member and uses it only for labeling. When it's off, speakers are labeled from the call itself (staff or contact) or as "Speaker 1, 2…". Disabling it deletes every stored signature.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions & Troubleshooting

Can I transcribe a recording that wasn't transcribed automatically?

Yes. Open the recording on the Recordings page and click Transcribe, then Run AI Analysis. Each manual AI analysis runs once and can't be re-run. See our article on reviewing call recordings and AI analysis.

How many credits does a transcription use?

One credit for each minute of recording, rounded up. For example, a 6 minute 54 second recording uses 7 credits. Before you transcribe by hand, Red Belt shows the estimated credits and your balance.

Why isn't AI Performance Analysis running?

Check that an AI provider key is connected and assigned in Setup › AI Setup, and that the recording has been transcribed.

Where can I see the credits transcription has used?

See the statistics at the bottom of this page, or the credit report.
